Quick guide how to light or turn on gas log fireplace safely.
Like most people, I turn off my fireplace after each winter. I live in Texas and the temperature here 75% of the year do not need fireplace. Having the pilot fire running all year long is actually not a good idea, it will be wasting gas and it is not safe.
Because I turn off my gas log fireplace every year, when the temperature drops in the winter I do need to turn it back on, here are the basic steps of how to turn on gas log fireplace after it has been off for most of the year.
1. Make sure all the gas valves / connections are still closed.
2. Make sure the primary switch (the one that has pilot, on, off) is switched to OFF.
3. Start turning on the gas from the gas valve closes to the source pipe.
4. Then turn on other gas valve closer to the gas log.
5. Finally switch the gas log fireplace valve to PILOT and start igniting the pilot fire (you must use manual / instruction from your gas log fireplace manufacturer).
6. Once the pilot fire is on, I usually wait at least 1 minute to make sure the pilot fire is stable.
7. Then switch the main gas log fireplace switch to ON position.

I am changing an existing switch to a Zwave switch / dimmer.
My ZWAVE switch is made by Jasco but white labeled by GE. It is an In-Wall Switch with Dimmer capability. It supports Z-wave and Z-wave Plus. It is compatible with many major z-wave controllers such as Samsung Smartthings, Vera, Wink, Alexa, etc...
This which require common (neutral), hot (black), and ground wires.
Installation was super easy, everything was just insert and screw-in. They even included the extra neutral pigtail cable (nice).
The installation time was only about 10 min including pairing the z-wave switch to my smartthings via smartthings mobile app.

KITCHEN AID MIXER STOPPED WORKING [FIXED] - Thermal Fuse Broken
How to fix Kitchen Aid blender that stopped working. We have not used our kitchenaid professional 6 mixer for a long time and suddenly it stopped working. It does not spin at all.
I opened it and tested the electrical flow. The electricity stopped at the Thermal Fuse. Basically the thermal fuse broke somehow.
I short circuited the 2 cables to bypass the fuse temporarily so that my Wife can user the mixer for 1 day then I ordered this thermal fuse:

My Tesla Model S MCU (infotainment system) started to show bubbles. I did some research online and found out it was caused by leaked liquid trapped between the LCD and glass. Everything in the MCU is still working just fine, but it is just annoying to see.
I created a service ticket / request on Tesla app and 2 days later tesla replied with an estimate.
Basically $214 for labor + $550 for Parts (replacement / upgrade of the MCU).

How to treat lawn moth / sod webworms problem.
This lawn moth / webworms occurs every year on our lawn.
It is very important to treat them as soon as possible so they do not spread.
Our homemade solution is very simple:
12 Cups water + 1 tablespoon of Dish Detergent (any detergent)
Just spray over affected area.
If you want to buy treatment products from the store, best treatments are to buy nematodes ( bacteria that eats these moths). Beneficial nematodes are the defenders of grass. Nematodes are available and you can buy them. Nematodes destroy insects like grubs that are destructive to lawns. Steinernema carpocapsae is a sit-and-wait forager, waiting for target insects to come near before infesting.

My Tesla Mobile Connector (charger) stopped working. I decided to open it up and try to repair it. This charger was very difficult to open. I had to pry it open using flat head screw driver and hammer.
Inside the tesla mobile connector, i did not see anything wrong, no serviceable or repairable component.
Because I failed to repair this tesla mobile connector, I decided to scrap it for parts. I cut up the cable to be used as my welding extension cord. The charger connector that plugs into the car I will use as a trophy.

I am troubleshooting my AC condenser. I have already tested to make sure that 24 V is being delivered to the condenser. I have also manually pressed the contactor to see if the condenser will start or not, and it does start period. However my contactor does not contact, or in other words my contactor does not work because there is no power going to it. I am not sure why there’s no power going through the contactor. Looks like the yellow cable which should have brought 24 V to the contactor seems to have lost its power when it went through two sensors which are attached to the refrigerant lines.
Reminder video to always make sure you have checked and cap off any sprinkler head that you may be covering when you are pouring concrete for drive way, any slab, foundation, pavilion, cabana, outdoor kitchen, etc...
You must watch this video before pouring concrete otherwise the cost of fixing this issue may be very very expensive!

I bought this Colosus Keyless Smart Door Lock, after only 1 year, it is broken. Something inside broke where we can not open the door by swinging the handle downward (the typical way). Instead we have to swing handle upwards to open the door.
I am contacting Colosus hoping they will stand behind / support their product.
So far we have sent message to Colosus via Amazon about 3 days ago, but no reply.

The bricks used in his video are the Old Chicago Bricks. These Chicago bricks are reclaimed bricks from the Chicago fire. They are used bricks and they give the perfect rustic and old town look we were aiming for.

I have been using a Tesla Mobile Connector (wrongly) for many years to charge my Tesla Model S at home. It finally died! It flashes 5 red lights.
